My Hewlett-Packard Laptop (Model 15-dy-1027ed) Computes. When I was shopping for a new laptop, the process was just as challenging as it sounds. So many options and so little help to decide what to buy.
I had several needs and wants for my next laptop – screen size, resolution, reliability, memory, graphics, processor, power, weight and battery life. And like most of us, I also had a limited supply of funds.
I needed a machine for both personal and professional use – something strong enough to crunch numbers (and words) during the day and play videos at night. Fortunately, my research pointed me in the direction of Hewlett-Packard, and it’s been an ideal machine for me for several years.
HP wasn’t the cheapest option. But the difference in cost has been repaid to me via HP’s Customer Service and resources.
As a pioneer in computers, H-P is an instantly recognizable brand, and that could mean you might pay a bit more than a comparable off-brand model, but that difference becomes negligible when you balance it with H-P’s customer service and resources. At the end of the day, I’m still surprised at how much computer I got for the relatively small sum that I handed over to the good folks at Best Buy.
This H-P laptop stands out because of its practical size (15”) and utilitarian features – hi-def screen, fingerprint scanner, tactile keyboard, and plenty of memory. And it is extremely durable, which was especially surprising when you consider the machine’s light weight and slim profile. It’s been dropped, had stuff stacked on it and spilled on it, and been the resting place for a 13-pound cat. Another benefit of the H-P laptop is the ease of adding extensions. Regardless of whether you’re adding an H-P accessory, any PC-appropriate device comes with plug-and-play simplicity. Over the years, I’ve added various software and virus protections, an external hard drive, CD/DVD player/writer, speakers, keyboard/mouse, and a printer, but the core of my eminently capable home office is the same H-P laptop that I started with years ago.
Of course, home computing comes with its own complaints, but the H-P laptop manages to navigate these with relative ease. One of the best recommendations is to stay current with simple maintenance like purging temporary files, running virus scans, and installing software and security updates.
One big benefit of HP my HP laptop is that it came with the HP Smart app, which makes troubleshooting bigger problems simpler. And while the memory is sufficient for basic use, many folks might at some point need an upgrade (internal chip or external hard drive).
My overall experience with the H-P laptop has made one thing clear – when it comes to purchasing my next laptop, I’ll be starting by looking at Hewlett-Packard models and compare everything else to them.
