Peloton Bike

My 7+ Year Peloton Journey has changed the way I work out. Having the Peloton Bike has made exercise more convenient and changed the way I look at fitness overall.

I bought my Peloton bike in 2017, and the convenience of having a high-quality workout experience at home is unbeatable—no commuting to the gym, no worrying about class schedules, just hop on the bike and go.

And it’s just so easy.  I turn on the monitor, get on the bike, choose my class and go.  And whether I’m looking for a tough, draining workout, like a 60 minute climb class, or a way to take it easy and help my muscles recover in a 20 minute recovery ride, there are always thousands of options from which I can choose.   I’ve even enjoyed 120 minute classes on the bike.

The on-screen metrics also help to keep me accountable.  I can see my ‘output’ which is a measure of how hard I’m working in context to my own age, weight and ability.  I can track my heartrate and I can even watch the leaderboard, comparing my effort to others who have taken the class or even to go against myself.

The variety of classes is almost endless. With dozens of instructors and class types, I have the options to choose classes based on musical genre, workout difficulty, training goals and/or a mix of some or all of these.  (I’ve also hooked my bike up to my stereo via Bluetooth so I can crank up the music to further improve my experience.)

The Bike comes with the Peloton App, which furthers my workout options with thousands of stretching, strength training, yoga, hiking, running and other on-demand and live class options that I enjoy off the bike.  No matter my mood or energy level, there’s always a workout that fits.

Peloton makes it easy to set goals and track progress, and I’ve seen incredible results. Over the years, I’ve lost more than two inches from my waistline, lowered my resting heart rate into the 40s, and significantly improved my overall fitness. After every ride, I can see my effort, output, heart rate, and other performance metrics right in the Peloton app, keeping me motivated and focused on my progress.

Peloton isn’t just a piece of fitness equipment—it’s a lifestyle. The instructors keep me engaged, the leaderboard pushes me to work harder, and the community keeps me coming back. Seven years in, and I still look forward to every ride. If you’re considering investing in a Peloton, I can say with confidence: it’s 100% worth it.

Great write up. I too have been a long time Peoloton rider and it’s changed my daily routine for the better. The bike was a major coping mechanism during the Covid lockdown and has since become a foundational part of my fitness routine. And as a bonus, the paid subscription includes stretching, walking, running and other content I use when I’m not on the bike.
