The Shark Vacuum Company Sells Hair Care Tools, Too!
I could start this review by using a shark pun like, “The Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Hair Drying System takes a BITE out of styling hair” but let’s skip the corny comments and get right to it.
I’ll tell you that users of the Shark FlexStyle have been repeatedly saying that this all-in-one beauty tool is ingenious and made with some really cool technology. It makes sense since most of us have a bin full of hair dryers, curling tools, hair drying brushes, heatless rollers, straightening tools and a boatload of hair care gels, mousses, volumizers and hairsprays. The amount of money spent on haircare industry products can be astronomical not to mention the time it typically takes to style hair and achieve a desired look. Therefore, a streamlined beauty regime in today’s busy world is always appreciated.
How I Learned About This Product is Quite Funny
My daughter in law’s employer asked each of the twenty employees to provide a “Santa Gift List” with 3 items that they wished to receive. The employer would select one item on each person’s list and surprise them with it. The dollar amount of potential gifts was very generous if you ask me. So, a few weeks before this past Christmas, my daughter in law attended her Christmas party and she received what she described as “The Shark.”
As she bubbled with enthusiasm about receiving a “Shark,” I didn’t really understand how a 25-year-old would be excited about a Shark vacuum. You see, I associated the brand name “Shark” with household products. Unbeknownst to me, Shark now introduced a beauty product and although I never heard of it, apparently “the Shark” has been quite popular and making a “splash” in the beauty industry.

That’s a “YES” from me, who is an often technologically challenged person requiring assistance from the younger generation.
To change from the hair dryer mode to the styling wand mode, slide the hinge latch button down and rotate the nozzle back up until it clicks into place. It will look like a long single barrel design. Add the attachment of your choice to style. Then, to change back to the hair dryer mode, remove the attachment, slide down the hinge latch button on the back of the hair dryer and rotate the nozzle left until it clicks. So simple yet such a smart and thoughtful design.
Seeing is Believing
I asked my daughter in law to style my above shoulder length bobbed hair with the Shark FlexStyle. I have a slight wave in my hair but typically, hours after styling my hair appears flat as a pancake. I was skeptical to see what this product could offer my hair.
I will first say that I wanted to not like the Shark FlexStyle because I purchased my current hairdryer for $18.99 at CVS. Being frugal, I could not justify spending $279.99 on a beauty product unless it came with a person to style my hair. But my sense of fairness and curiosity wanted to give this product a try.
I was not expecting to be BLOWN AWAY … literally.
It felt like within minutes my hair was dry! The drying time was way quicker than with my old faithful Conair hairdryer. Then, with a simple twist, she attached the auto wrap curler. Shock is the only way to describe curl after curl after curl.
Is that really my hair that I see in the mirror? There must be something to the quick drying benefit that Shark talks about. My hair looked super smooth, shiny and the healthiest that I’ve seen in a long time. With my current hair dryer, my hair always looked dry after use.
My skepticism about how amazing the Shark FlexStyle® was fading but there was one more factor that I needed to consider.
Okay, my hairstyle looks great now, but will the bouncy curls stay in throughout my workday? Again, another “wow” moment when I looked in the mirror (just about every hour) and to my surprise, the curls remained intact.

This one product not only made me rethink how I dry, curl, volumize and smooth my hair on a daily basis but also allowed me to rid of the extra hair care tools that had taken over my hair care shelf.
