At a recent book club meeting at my friend Ashley’s house, I heard many “Oohs and Ahhs” coming from the kitchen. Unlike my typical obsessive research prior to making important purchases, one taste was all I needed to consider buying this machine. I searched online and decided to purchase it from the official Lavazza website. While I typically would lament overspending $189.99 (Reduced price from $280.10), there was no hesitation on my part! I added the coffee machine to my cart and excitedly placed my order. When the machine arrived at my house, it felt like the ten-year-old me on Christmas morning.

My answer is a resounding YES. The Lavazza Classy Plus Espresso and Coffee Machine is quite impressive! Rest assured, this is not a new brand. In fact, Lavazza coffee has been around since 1895–that’s a whopping 130 years!

My son and daughter in law – the twenty-something year old coffee aficionados – helped me with my first effort to ensure I did not catapult scalding coffee around the kitchen. To my surprise, it was a huge success and being proud of my café latte is an understatement. And yes, I took a selfie with my prize-winning first cup of coffee I made with this machine.

Clean-Up is a Breeze
There are only two small parts to clean after use! Washing the milk vessel cup and the special steamer top can be washed in less than one minute! I purposely choose to pour the finished coffee into my insulated travel mug or my favorite ceramic mug if I’m enjoying my coffee at home. You can drink directly from the provided glass cup, but it feels more like a heavy measuring cup to me. As with most coffee machines, it is recommended to descale the machine every three months to maintain optimal performance.
Enjoy Coffee Any Time of Day, at Home or On-the-Go
The perk that I enjoy the most in addition to saving money, is that I can now make my morning classic cappuccino or a rich latte at home and leave the house at a later time. In other words, I don’t need to buffer my commute time to accommodate the unpredictability of the busy drive through the pick-up line at Starbucks. Simplifying my morning routine has been liberating.
How Much has the Lavazza Classy Plus Espresso and Coffee Machine Saved Me?
I can’t speak for every coffee drinker, but I was spending approximately $7 on each latte that I was purchasing, adding up to $35 or more per week. I won’t even calculate the monthly cost because it makes me ill to think of what I spent last year on coffee alone!

As an added bonus, I feel so much less stressed each morning, avoiding the re-routed commute to buy coffee prior to driving to work. Two Minor Cons – NOT Deal Breakers
While you can purchase Keurig, Nespresso and some Lavazza coffee pods at just about every grocery store, pods for the Lavazza Classy model are not available in stores. At first, that seemed like a con, but I simply signed up for a pod subscription on the Lavazza website. It’s so convenient! You can also order Lavazza Classy pods on Amazon. And before you ask, there is no universal pod for this machine that allows you to add your own ground coffee. I am enjoying this coffee machine so much that the pros certainly outweigh the cons.
