I’ve had the Sensarte ceramic frying pan for over a year and it’s my go to pan for cooking. I leave it out on my stove and use for almost all my cooked meals. It’s the best non-stick pan that I’ve ever had and its high tech and innovative compared to traditional non-stick pans. It’s great for any type of cook: home cooks, serious chefs or everyday users. I did a lot of research before buying this pan and it has more than lived up to my expectations. This review is for the 12” pan with a lid, but since they’re all made the same, this overview applies to every size.
Design & Build Quality
From the moment you open the box, you can tell this pan is different. The handle is detached from the pan, but a mini-screwdriver and screw are provided to install it. The handle is made of polished wood, which not only looks nice, but effectively keeps the heat away. The handle is ergonomically designed, so it’s comfortable to hold and maneuver the pan. The pan is nicely balanced which makes it easy to pick up and lift off the heat. It looks good too. It’s sleek looking with a polished design thanks to the ceramic construction. The quality of the build is apparent from the first time you look at it. The bottom is think enough to effectively conduct the heat in a balanced way. The inside of the pan is one continuous flow without any visible connection points. It just looks and feels like a quality pan.
Cooking Performance
Thanks to the ceramic coating, the pan heats up quickly, more than any other pan I’ve owned. You don’t have to waste time waiting for the pan to get to temperature. It’s important though not to put the heat on too high. It is recommended to set your stove to medium-high heat at the highest. Any higher and you could ruin the finish. The heat spreads out very evenly, so you can use the full pan for cooking and it works well with all types of heat: gas, electric or induction.
The non-stick capabilities are almost perfect. Food slides off easily without use of any oil or grease, although I do use oil when I want to brown foods. Every food I’ve cooked has slid right off including eggs, fish, pancakes, meat and veggies. After a year, the non-stick ability is still as good as it was the first day. In my experience with other non-stick pans, they eventually wear off and you have to buy a new one. With the Sensarte, so far so good!
As far as searing and browning, like all non-stick pans, it needs at little oil to get the best sear or browning. I personally always use a little oil to brown my foods, but you don’t need much. And cleaning is a breeze. Usually a good rinse of water will get most of the residual food off the pan, and I follow up with a light cleaning with dish soap. You can not dishwash this pan, but that’s ok.
At $43.00, the Sensarte is a great value. It’s priced right in the middle of other non-stick pans, some with high-tech coating and others with more traditional non-stick surfaces. More importantly, it will last a long time and won’t need to be replaced any time soon, unlike other brands. No matter what type of cook you are – casual, frequent, pro level – this pan works for everyone. It’s no wonder this pan is a best seller on Amazon.
